The Lions Gate Bridge spans across the first narrows of Burrard inlet, the shallower part of the coastal fjord of south western British Columbia.
It is a suspension bridge with a total length of 1823 meters.
The name Lions signifies the pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver.
There are three traffic lanes on the bridge; the traffic direction of the middle lane is controlled by reversible signals according to the volume of traffic at different peak hours.
