
The Butchart Gardens is a 22 hectare floral showpiece which has a few gardens of different scheme. It has the Japanese Garden, the Sunken Garden, the Rose Garden and others.
It is located in Victoria on Vancouver Island.
It was a private garden of Mr and Mrs R.P. Butchart in early nineteen century. It was expanded gradually and was later opened to visitors. The Gardens has been passed on through the generations of the Butchart family. It is now slightly over 100 years.
Though it is designated as a national historic site, it still a private property of the Butchart family.
The Gardens is open on all seasons as it boasts floral plants of all seasons.
