Peyto Lake

Peyto Lake comes into view

Picturesque scenery

Peyto Lake is one of the many glacier fed lakes in the Canadian Rockies.

It is located in the Banff national park, easily accessed from the Icefields Parkway, a main highway leading to the few national parks in the Canadian Rockies.

The bright turquoise color of the lake is due to glacial rock flour which flows into the lake during summer.

leads us to the lake

Turquoise serenity

Everyone jostles for place near the railing
to have a good view of the lake

or to take a snapshot of the
nature beauty
